Daily Bread Food Bank

Daily Bread Food Bank is one of the largest food bank organizations in Canada, distributing food and cooked meals to millions of clients across Toronto; however, despite being well recognized, many Canadians were unaware of its advocacy work. Our challenge was to transform the perception of Daily Bread from a local food bank into an organization advocating for long-term solutions to end poverty—reflected clearly through its brand identity.

Despite Canadians’ strong pride in championing global human rights, food insecurity has reached crisis levels at home, with one in ten Torontonians now dependent on food banks—a figure that has doubled since last year. This urgent need to empower Canadians to advocate for meaningful change is the driving force behind the new brand identity.

The new identity draws inspiration from the unity of four forks, serving as a symbol and call-to-action in the fight to end hunger. The forks are also hands, bringing the community together. The X, reminiscent of marking a ballot, represents the advocacy work to drive policy change and eliminate poverty.

The rebrand helped position Daily Bread Food Bank not only as an advocate working to end food insecurity, but also as a key partner in helping communities understand the broader issues surrounding poverty, establishing the brand as a strong defender of human rights.
